Gold surges to a record high amid ongoing tariff uncertainty and worry about a global recession. The metal hit $3225 on Friday and continues to climb. Silver also wiped away all of last week’s losses and is trading at $32.25—up about 14% from its recent low. Stocks are up modestly after plunging yesterday to wipe away most of Wednesday’s gains in response to President Trump pausing most tariffs for 90 days. The S&P 500 is up about 1.2% and the Dow is up about 1% heading into the close.
